Badger Pass is located 7 miles from our location of lodging accommodations. To drive from the village store in the valley to Badger Pass, the distance is 20 miles. Stay with us and you will be only minutes away. During the ski season, the road is plowed all the way to the Badger Pass Ski parking lot. The Glacier point road is usually open past Badger Pass beginning in late Spring until the first snowfall of any substance. Glacier Point is a spectacular view of the entire Yosemite valley. Access to Glacier Point is only via skis or snowshoes. The skis can be rented at Badger Pass. Half day prices are available, 12:30pm to 4:00pm.

Snowboarders are welcome at Badger Pass. Snowboards lessons and rental equipment available for the daring.

The ski slopes are perfect for beginners as well the expert skier. Badger is well equipped for the beginner. The Turtle run, providing a toe rope for beginners. Some others include Eagle, Rabbit, Red Fox, the Turkey trails and Badger which is for the experienced skiers. The slopes vary in lengths from about 300 feet up to about a mile long.

The cross-country ski trails also begin near the parking area for Badger Pass. Lessons and rentals are available. Badger Pass is scheduled to open for weekends on Thanksgiving Day.

Badger Pass Ski Area is located inside Yosemite National Park, about 6 miles east of Highway 41 on the Glacier Point Rd. Badger Pass is known to be the oldest ski resort in California and is considered to be the best cross county skiing in the United States, also excellent downhill skiing.

Cross Country Skiing Lessons: Located at Badger Pass, in the Cross Country Center. The Yosemite Cross-Country Ski School offers a progression of lessons, each designed to improve your skiing in a different way including trail and off-track lessons, cross-country downhill (Telemark) and cross-country skating. Overnight tours to the Glacier Point Hut are offered Wednesday and Saturday nights, with private trips available. Cross Country prices include equipment rentals. There are no trail fee for backcountry ski trails. Call Badger for equipment rental prices.

Badger Pass was established in 1935. Located 23 miles from Yosemite Valley on Hwy. 41. Badger Pass is open typically Thanksgiving until the last weekend of March. The lifts are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These are the number of lifts, One Triple-chair lift, Three Double-chair lifts, and One Cable Tow. There are 900 parking spaces available. There are nine runs. Runs for each class of skier: Beginner- 35% Intermediate- 50% Advanced- 15%.

The Lodge is located at 7,200 ft. elevation. The top of the mountain is 8,000 ft., with a vertical drop of 700 ft. The Temperatures are usually mild, the highs ranging between 30 and 60 degrees.

The Yosemite Ski School, first in the West, was begun in 1928. The school has a staff of 25 instructors, many of whom are members of Professional Ski Instructors of America® (PSIA) or American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI).

Nastar (for all skiers of all abilities) Fees are charged for runs.

Babysitting for children 3 to 9 years old; must be toilet trained. Located in the Badger Pups Den.

Lockers are available for rent by the day, week or for the season.

Ski Shop available, ski accessories . Day Lodge, Ski Repair Shop, First Aid Station, Ski Patrol and Outdoor Barbecue (held most weekends, weather permitting), NPS-guided snowshoe walks.

Downhill learn to ski packages are offered.  There are other packages available too.  Check with Badger Pass for additional information.

The Snowflake Room is located upstairs and has many items offered: Deli sandwiches, salads, soft drinks, wine, beer, cocktails- open 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends and holidays.  Sliders Grab-N-Go is fast foods on the main floor of the Day Lodge; pizza, hamburgers, chicken strips, deli sandwiches, salads, soups, chili, nachos, and a variety of fast foods and soft drinks. 

Ice skating ( 209-372-8319) in an outdoor rink in Curry Village with a beautiful view of Half Dome, November to March. There is an open-air fire-pit, hot chocolate and a view.
